AT Breaking Boundaries we offer state of the art technologies to enhance our therapeutic strategies through Virtual Reality.
Virtual Reality (VR) is an incredibly fun therapeutic tool used by our Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapist and Therapy Assistants, leveraging immersive, computer-generated environments to support motor learning, neuroplasticity, and functional development. By simulating real-world tasks and controlled therapeutic scenarios, VR systems facilitate repetitive, task-specific practice. These environments stimulate multisensory feedback (visual, auditory, and sometimes haptic), which enhances sensorimotor integration and engagement whilst incorporating motor rehabilitation. This can be a fun and competitive tool to engage in during your sessions.
There is growing evidence for the use of VR for certain neurological conditions, such as stroke.
