Early – Middle Adolescence (7years – 18years)

Neurological conditions can affect a child’s physical function as they continue to grow into adults. It is important for children to be able to participate in activities with their peers and safely explore their independence. They may struggle with coordination, mobility, strength, tone, range of motion and balance.

At Breaking Boundaries we work with a wide variety of early – middle adolescence conditions including Cerebral Palsy, injuries to the brain or spinal cord, development delays, as well as chromosomal and genetic disorders.

Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists can support young people through a number of different treatments including hands on facilitation of improved movement control, exercises to improve strength and coordination, coordination training, re-education and training of function such as climbing, bike riding, running, jumping and hopping.

Breaking Boundaries’ Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists also offer and incorporate stretching and water / hydrotherapy into the therapy when indicated. We work closely with parents / guardians and their support networks to educate them on how to best support their child with their rehabilitation outside of therapy time. The team at Breaking Boundaries will take an individualized approach to your rehabilitation to make sure your children are working on goals that are meaningful to them.
